Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Enjoying my life and meeting interesting, intelligent people. Also helping bring change by helping a new president get elected.
ABOUT ME
I'm a very outgoing, talkative person who is open-minded and takes most things in stride. I have a sharp mind and love intellectually stimulating conversation. I also like making people laugh.
PHILOSOPHY
I don't let the little things get me down for long. I try to walk away from every relationship/experience having learned something about myself or about life. I'm very much a "no-bullsh*t" person. I say what I think without being obnoxious about it.

Music, Movies, and Books
I read a lot, so it's hard to choose. I really loved To Kill a Mockingbird, but I think that's because I like hearing that Southern drawl in my imagination. I like most music, but I'm not a big fan of Country. Back in the 80s I was a bit of a headbanger, but that's mellowed.
As for movies... I like all types. The Departed, Closer, the newer Batman movies, Lars and the Real Girl, Hot Fuzz, Pan's Labyrinth, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Syriana, American Beauty.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Wandered around a marketplace in Oaxaca alone and armed only with my not-even-beginner-level Spanish and a phrase book. It was wonderful!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd love to learn more French and Russian. I'm hoping to take off on some CS travels over the next year and learn about the places and cultures I visit. I don't think you really "see" a place until you meet the people.
What can I teach? Hmmm... I'm a pretty good cook, so there's that. I think I can teach people to laugh more and not take life so seriously. I also recently discovered I'm pretty good at giving pills to cats (although I cannot stress enough that untrained people should NOT attempt this without protective clothing).
