-participating in a traditional Native American Ojibwe sweat lodge

-serving on a Search & Rescue Mountain Patrol team on Mt. Monadnock, N.H

-having our car break down on a roadtrip in Sussex, New Brunswick and being taken in for 3 days by our mechanic--people can be truly astounding

-backpacking for 3 weeks with my partner across southwestern China
