ABOUT ME
I'm Sam Monroe. Americans call me Canadian, Canadians call me American. I guess I'm a bit of both (all the good parts of each I assure you). I've just graduated from uni in the middle of nowhere quebec, I studied Economics and Politics and business. I'm at home in the cold, among good people, or at any pub. I love to travel, but until recently I've been trapped in north america (seen most of it though to be fair) Excited about the fact I still have so much left to see.
PHILOSOPHY
be happy!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Right now I'm traveling so I cannot offer a couch, lets meet up for drinks or coffee?
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I spent a semester abroad in Iceland and hosted a bunch of travelers. One of them suggested I stay with her friend in Spain, and I've been hooked since. Children are taught to be afraid of strangers... we need to start teaching adults they don't have to be.
Interests
I love music, movies, sports(hockey, soccer, longboarding, rugby), food, beer, anything really.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies are anything done by Guy Ritchie, Danny Boyle, Wes Anderson, but so many others too
I love just about any type of music except country... but some favorites would have to be arcade fire, modest mouse, the pixies, radiohead, the notwist, sigur rós and ratatat. I'd say going to concerts is just about my favorite thing ever too. they dont even have to be good ones.
Books are always great. Love the classics like hemingway and steinbeck, but also some new authors like bill bryson
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Well I worked for a summer in a fish plant in alaska (by far the WORST summer job I have ever had... I might go back next year), I hitchhiked around iceland in the winter (had a race, I won!), I've biked around the nova scotia coast.
