About Me

I recently moved from Montana to Maine in 2016. My partner and I are creating a rewilding community based on hunter-gatherer principles. So far, we are a community of 5, but steadily growing within the next year. We have one big house with running water and electricity and one small cabin with electricity. We plan for a few more families to move here in the next year or two. We live in a mountain valley and we are the only people in this valley. I can walk out of the cabin I live in and go on a hike in almost any direction without seeing anyone other than the nonhuman life in this forest. Our community harvests as much of our own food and water as possible from the forest and we are also beginning to grow some of our own food as well. We often have things going on here that we'd be more than happy to have visitors help with or just come observe, like harvesting maple sap, tanning deer hides, foraging wild edibles, creating a beautiful community space for our new members, etc.

Anyways, I like to learn ancestral skills and move my body a lot through hiking, swimming, tanning hides, whatever. I spend most of my days hanging out in the forest with a 3 1/2 year old girl and her dolls. I also really enjoy cooking with other people as long as the food is either wild-harvested or local and organic! Things I don't really like are the feeling of being busy as well as keeping track of the time and having time commitments. I also don't like listening to the news or writing 'about me's... so that is all :) Come visit me and the awesome community I live with!
