About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Always look on the bright side.

ABOUT ME

I'm a smiley Brit currently living in the South-East of Spain making the most of all of the small pleasures life brings.
I'm a true believer in making the most of every opportunity, which has resulted in lots of wonderful experiences around the world.

My passions are (obviously asides from travelling) learning, cooking and gastronomy, nature (whether it be the mountains or the sea, I'm happy anywhere tranquil).

My perfect evening involves a terrace with an inspiring view and a good wine.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To experience real life in the places I visit and show people the corners of my adopted home that a guidebook won't tell you about.

Interests

It goes without saying that travelling is one of my favourite things to do. I relish any opportunity to get swept away in the moment; wandering through a local market, hiking up a mountain or soaking up the sounds of the sea.

When at home, I enjoy the little things in life; a good book, interesting conversation, a hearty meal and a generous glass of red.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not a big film or TV fan. I prefer to create my own exciting stories or converse with friends.

My music taste is very eclectic, ranging from dance to soul to funk to indie.

There isn't enough space to write about my favourite books and authors. Having studied Hispanic studies, most of the Spanish/Latin American/Portuguese classics make the list as well as more modern literature; Margaret Atwood, Salman Rushdie, Paulo Coelho, Haruki Murakami, Milan Kundera, José Saramago, John Irving, Barbara Kingsolver, Monica Ali.... as well as political, historical and scientific non-fiction to keep me grounded.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Inca trail, Ciudad Perdida trek, Iguazú falls, sunrise over Lake Titicaca, Hluhluwe and Umfolozi safari... The list goes on...
