About Me

[My profile is usually a good 5 years out of date, so whatever you read below is likely to be inaccurate in terms of what country I'm in and what I'm doing with my life.]

I'm living in two countries at the same time: Scotland and Israel. In Scotland, I'm a Couchsurfing host. In Israel, I'm studying for a doctorate in dolphin communication in the Red Sea. I'm vegetarian, I love all animals, and I'm housetrained.

I am more arty-sciency than spiritual, but I have friends of all religions. My politics are left-wing, and things like racism and homophobia make me sad.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I couchsurf if I need to go somewhere for an event or because I want to visit a particular place. In Scotland, I mainly host couchsurfers who are passing through, as Scotland is popular with travellers who like to explore.

My experiences as a guest have made me a more relaxed host: I've realised nobody actually judges me on my housework. It's inspiring to meet people in this way, and it has given me some lifelong friends.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived on Hawaii for 5 months, helping feral cats and learning how to be a beekeeper and how to respect a continually shifting lava landscape that is also a god. It changed my outlook.
