About Me

CURRENT MISSION

become a translator of Latvian fiction literature to Norwegian. My first translated novel came out in 2016, and I have understood that it is something I would like to continue doing. Now I am translating a Lithuanian essay book by Giedra Radvilavičiūtė to Norwegian

ABOUT ME

Maybe a bit messy, but I am eager to learn new things and quite kind. Passionate teacher of Norwegian language. I have lived in Latvia for several years.

Music: Nordic singer-songwriters, calm jazz (Jan Johansson, Chet Baker, Monica Zetterlund, Jan Garbarek), folk music, classical music, especially J.S. Bach.
Books: L.S. Christensen, Guntis Zariņš, Agnar Mykle, Murakami.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have had some trips that have been quite amazing, among them visiting a Latvian village far off in Siberia and going to a mining village in Tuva. North-Korea was also very interesting and different from other places I have been. The experience that has influenced my life most is the year spent as exhange student in Latvia when I was high school - I fell in love whith the country, it's people, culture and language.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach: Norwegian and Latvian language
I want to learn: Estonian language and cooking of vegan dishes that are new to me

Countries I’ve Visited

Belarus, Estonia, Moldova, Morocco, North Korea, Russian Federation, Slovakia, United States
