About Me
ABOUT ME
I live and work in a soup kitchen in the South End neighborhood of Boston. This soup kitchen has been managed by a live-in intentional community since its founding in the 1960s. Together with my fellow community members, we cook, manage volunteers, care for the space, organize logistics, create a welcoming space, and get to know lots of people and their stories. The mission of this soup kitchen is not only to serve food, but to foster friendship-building across societal barriers and create community. Besides the soup kitchen, I am co-working intensively with a team of fellow community members as well as summer-employed teenagers to build and tend a farm on a half-acre of land in a nearby urban residential neighborhood. The mission of the urban farm is to grow vegetables for our soup kitchen, as well as for our nearby non-profit bakery cafe, which serves healthy, affordable food and employs formerly incarcerated women and men.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I think that CS is a fantastic means for people to give and receive hospitality, to meet people, and to get to know a place in a much deeper way.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Was once hosted by a CSer in Montreal and had a wonderful experience. I also couchsurfed once in Poughkeepsie and met some great people there as well.
