The mission that can be typed is not the true mission.
Hi! My name is Kevin. I live in Iowa City with my wife, Emily. She is a PhD student and I am a musician. We love music, good food, and hangin' out and learning about everything we can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We participate by mooching your Pacific Northwestern couch and we repay you with love, good conversation, trivial information that we hope interests you, and the soymilk and cereal that we don't consume ourselves. Alternatively, we let you sleep on our Texan couch so you can go try out for American Idol.
When we were staying with our first hosts, I accidentally put their freakishly standard-looking electric teapot on the stove and caused a smoky disaster that almost certainly gave cancer to myself, Mary, Emily, another Emily, and two cats. Having had and learned from this experience, potential hosts should know that we are the two couchsurfers least likely in the world to fuck up your electric teapot and lungs.
We'd like to thank all our hosts and guests. You've all been awesome.
Music making, Aikido, languages, video games, exploring, philosophy and religious studies, technology, and stuff.
Also I enjoy travel.
Listing interests is not an interest. However, many unlisted activities are and I would love to enjoy experiencing or talking about some of them with you.

Music, Movies, and Books
Sufjan Stevens, The Flaming Lips, Tao Te Ching, Bjork, The Mars Volta, The Science of Sleep, Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind, Ed Wood, Tom Sawyer, The Hero with a Thousand Faces, The Art of Happiness, Radiohead, A Confederacy of Dunces, The Pixies, Tool, The Bhagavad Gita and The Upanishads.
I often like to read the great spiritual and religious classics of the world, being that I feel like a monk at heart. I love all kinds of movies, particularly those which resonate with my Piscean nature and are both mind-bending and able to stir up a cry.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Emily and I rode Spencer's scooter around downtown Vancouver at midnight.
Emily hit a bunny with a golf ball. Accident.
