About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'd really like to see the northern lights.

ABOUT ME

My name is Pete Snyder.

I am a programmer who does mostly web and iPhone applications. I do freelance work so I can work from wherever. I didn't take full advantage of that last year and ended up just working from Chicago coffeeshops, which is was nice for a while, but now I'd like to meet some new people, see some new places, learn some new things, and make some new friends.

I grew up in the Midwestern US in a suburb outside of Chicago.

I am 25

I was in law school at Boston College for a while before deciding that it wasn't for me.

I like playing pop/rock music, and have been in several small
bands, like Tough But Fair (http://www.myspace.com/toughbutfair) and
Sonic Weapon Fence (http://ww.myspace.com/sonicweaponfence) which is
actually a band all about the TV show LOST.

I have blue eyes you could loose yourself in (well...)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just learned about this site since I'm in Vienna for a couple of months and looking to travel around Europe a bit while I'm here. I cannot host people in Vienna because of my roommate situation, but I would be happy to show anyone around if they'd like to grab a coffee / beer / coffee-beer. And when I get back to the US next year, I plan on hosting.

Music, Movies, and Books

Some bands I like are The Strokes, The Fall, Sabrepulse, and Busdriver. I recently read "The Schopenhauer Cure" and thought it was really calming and sweet

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I recently spent my weekend taking trip w/ a friend to the countryside around Budapest. We stayed at at his grandparent's place, which used to be a soviet farm, and we shot targets w/ his grandmothers air gun, pet the pigs and jumped off hay barrels

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach about programming, economics, some positive political theory, the workings of the US govt, some home repair, some (a little) German.
