HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am just getting started here. I have not yet had the opportunity to host anyone because of my living situation. I will be traveling soon, though, so I hope to become more involved!

Music, dancing, hiking, biking - basically anything outdoors - reading, creating things- I used to make/design clothes until my machine broke:( I also like to build things, mostly woodworking. Travel, of course!

I LOVE music! I am learning to play classical guitar and I love all types of music, but especially live music. Jazz: Nina Simone, Norah Jones, Lester Young and Sonny Rollins, Coltrane, Elvin Jones... Punk rock: Bad Brains, The Pixies, Bad Religion, Black Flag... Music that incorporates rhythms and soul from all over the world: Beats Antique, Zap Mama, Midnite, Lila Downs, Jimi Hendrix, Ceci Bastida, Grateful Dead, Buena Vista Social Club, GFE, A Tribe Called Quest, I could go on...

I haunt used book stores :) Jack Kerouac, The Dharma Bums is one of my fav book of alltime, it has inspired the paths of my life. Leslie Marmon Silko, Isabel Allende, The House of the Spirits is timeless, Siddhartha, Gabriel Márquez of course, Ursula Leguin, The Dispossessed, Seven Arrows by Hyemeyohsts Storm, Wildseed by Octavia Butler, A Walk in the Woods, Bill Bryson. I also love comic books (graphic novels): The Preacher Gone to Texas, Garth Ennis, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Neil Gaiman, The Sandman.

What a great idea! I could teach you how to play chess or use poi. I could also teach you how to build a passive solar house or design a PV system.

There are sooo many things I would like to learn...among them would be to be a more comfortable speaker of Spanish and a better guitar player; also learn to surf, do backflips or breakdance :)
