I grew up as a small child in Australia and Singapore, but then my influential teenage years and young adulthood in England the UK.

I have retured to Australia as an adult traveller after many years (was last in Sydney 10years ago). Gone is my childhood aussie accent but not my love for the outdoors, adventures, beaches and BBQ's. I have arrived from the UK but was only there for a year that time as travelled South america for two years prior to that. Through my late teens and early adulthood I traveled many european places - which seems such a long time ago now.

I'm trying to make my way around the world. To see, smell, hear, feel, taste and learn whatever I can about this plant and its people.. That sounds overly hippie dippie which I'm not ;) - I may have a few hippie tendancies such as being a one love kinda chick. However I'm down to earth and enjoy everyday things like music, sport, parties/dancing, socialising, films and people watching.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

I'm hoping the same reasons as others; Being on an adventure traveling the world. Wanting to meet new people in the hope of gaining new friendships. To make connections and share experiences around the world.. And obviously to attempt to avoid the over charged and over commercialised accommodation hospitality sector of our sadly slowly more globalised planet ;). Don't get me wrong I like a good hostel too, but as I'm getting older i find they can be heavy on the gap year (or gap year types) party every second, rather than true travellers. But most importantly its the locals who are the ones to really show/tell you what you don't want to miss and all the really good off the beaten track spots to find in their areas.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

I have really varied tastes in these categories.. So if it's good music or films I'll like it and up for all genres so hard to narrow it down to favourites. I like to read good novels but being diskexic they tend to take awhile ;), i particularly like 'the book thief', 'birdsong' and 'postcards from no mans land'.

Exceptions: with music, not into HEAVY heavy metal (sorry to me i can't take the screaming with such high distortion good intricate guitar rifts are lost - have you heard any acoustic versions of metelica they are actually pretty good). For films, not a fan of cheap slasher horror, I like a good horror more like phycological thrillers or what have you but a film with no plot just gore no thanks.

I could show you how to do poi (even fire poi) or some first aid or CPR ;). I could share some experiences or walks or talks.. I can cook you up some tradition english meals and some from other cultures. I could be your board gaming or computer gaming partner or just have some jokes over a few drinks.

happily share experiences and fun together, or maybe cook you a great curry or perhaps go on a hike, climb, skate together. If you prefer we can just relax on the beach with a drink or the sofa and a movie.
