About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Unstick myself. See the country. Watch pots boil.

ABOUT ME

I recently graduated college and have been working as a freelance software developer for a few months. I took short term contracts so I could save up the money to travel across the United States.

I think of myself as smart in a broad kind of way, not really a quick kind of way.

PHILOSOPHY

Zoom in or out enough and all stable systems may be described in terms of two forces: one causing change, or chaos, and one keeping things the same, or ordered.

These two imperatives drive the evolution of all things, no less ourselves. Sometimes we leave home, sometimes we go home.

Matter organizes into hierarchies comprised of an indefinite number of stable subsystems. Language is a description of a hierarchy at a given scale at a given time. A statement has predictive power, or truth, along a continuum. Direct experience is neither true nor false, it just is. Language drives stability, experience drives change.

To balance on the perfect number of words: that is Zen. To speak the language of oneself: that is Enlightenment.
