Hey, I’m Sohan Rai! Originally from Mangalore, I’ve explored this place inside out—its beaches, hidden hills, and some amazing hikes. Adventure and problem-solving have always been at the core of my life.

For the past 8 years, I’ve been building in tech—drones, robotics, UI/UX, app and web development, and a lot of startup experiments. I previously ran one of Karnataka’s first Virtual Reality arenas in Mangalore, and now I create content around technology and experiences. I’m also passionate about extreme sports. I’ve been surfing for the past year and volunteer as a surf instructor at Mangalore Surf Club. I also love Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP) and have trained in MMA (kickboxing). Exploring hidden spots on my motorbike is my favorite way to travel, and the most fun I’ve had was when my friend and I built a raft and spent 24 hours in the middle of the ocean!

For me, travel isn’t just about sightseeing—it’s about meeting people, exchanging ideas, and diving into new experiences. Couchsurfing is the perfect way to connect with like-minded explorers, share knowledge, and learn from different cultures.

As a guest, I love learning about local life and sharing stories. As a host, I’d be happy to show you some of the most underrated spots around Mangalore, take you on a surf session, or just geek out over tech and adventure.
