About Me

Hi. I'm sohyun lee, but please call me becky. I’ll give you five key words for you to know me better

• Silly
• Independent
• Writer
• Wanderer
• Intersectional feminest

I think the people here doing CS has similar traits. Easygoing, fun, enjoying life. I’m also like that. But I also can be very bossy in some ways, because I know what I want. and deal things in my way, independently. I wish to become a writer one day…. Hopefully haha but before that I want to travel, meet people and also work.

I majored in fashion, but doesn’t agree with big fashion brands too much…(Although they ARE pretty…haha) what I am doing rn is learning 3D fashion. It’s environmentally clean, and metaverse-friendly!

I love talking nonsense. I’m always interested in new things and I love imagining the future. How homo sapians would evolve into something different, how there would be artificial wombs and new education system(which would be ran by AI :p), and how we humans would deal with them... I love making up stories. I like to think of myself as a storyteller. Writer, narrator whatever you call it. I would love to listen to your stories and add on to my scripts.

If I add a bit more about feminism thingy, I think every hatred has the same mechanism. Hatred towards colored, disabled, the young, the old, the poor...
We need to erase the principle of "if a person is weak, he or she should tolerate it, because it is what they deserve". I am not saying that a women is always the weak. Each person has lots of sides. One can be both attacker and victim. Nothing is fixed. That's why u always have to think how to deal with things. Not just in social levels but also with micro problems in daily lives.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me, traveling is not just visiting new places. To meet new people and their perspectives is the number one priority. I can feel myself growing and opening up.

Plus, it’s always fun to meet fellow travelers. Why not.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Volunteering in Myanmar for a month. I was in a community called Thabarwa volunteer/meditation center and it was just so crazy. Volunteers there have no obligations, and we can basically make up projects and choose daily works. Still, the main event is to bathe/ treat patients. I cleaned and took care of wounds of patients (Tho I have absolutely no medical background, they teach you everything) I learned Burmese languages from patients and taught kids English. We cooked together and participated in meetings.

Tharbawa.. It’s such a humbling place. You wouldn’t be able to survive there, if you’re too attached to patients or try to change the place big time. I just tried to talk to patients make them smile. To give them a day worth of happiness. Also I learned to importance of supporting friends. I met amazing people there and each and every exhausted/low/mad moments they were the ones who gave me the will to live on for one more day. I still live with the energy they gave me. I hope to become a supporting person to all of my dear friends.

Trying to live each day for the fullest the only way one can live meaningfully. That’s what I learned there.

Also I went to india twice! What can I say… I just love that masala chai
