Hello! I live in a semi-rural neighborhood about 12 miles from Lancaster, California, and about 1-1/2 hours driving to downtown Los Angeles. I have a law practice out of my home. I have two kids ages 18 and 20 (Ahnwyn, my 20-year-old daughter, lives out of state). I have hosted high school exchange students from the Netherlands, Pakistan, Germany, France, Spain, Chile, Italy the Czech Republic, Japan and China. I myself was an exchange student in Sevilla in 1985 - 1986, which was probably the best year of my life, and my mother was an exchange student in Norway in 1960-61 (I think). I have had several farm animals (goats, pigs, geese, ducks, etc.) although I am downsizing now, 3 dogs and an outside cat. I live on a dirt road, and we are pretty casual and laid back out here in the area of the Antelope Valley called Del Sur, California. I am right on the edge of Death Valley, which may be the most beautiful place on earth. Each of my family members are voracious readers, we heat our home with a wood stove in the winter, and we love the HOT summers. I don't have a TV, but we have internet in general with wifi. I have had many couchsurfer guests over the years, and it has been a fantastic experience. My kids are mostly gone now, so It's not that exciting at my house like it used to be, but it would still be fun to get together with strangers and become friends. :)

Actually, I am signing up because my brother and I were talking last month about taking a trip with the kids to Spain and, in signing up I see that I am actually signing up to host people. Which is great!!!!!
