About Me

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I simply enjoy meeting new people. That is why I travel a lot and often allow people to stay with me and my housemates for a few days. I also know that many people (including myself) would not be able to visit as many countries as they want to without the opportunity to stay at another person's house.
It is nice to come to a city and know someone who knows what sights to see, where to hike or where the best pub is. Without couchsurfing contacts in foreign cities would be much harder to find.

Interests

I enjoy music, especially classical and church music, but do not turn an invitation to a techno party down either. Sports is an important part of my life, that includes swimming, running, horse riding and ballroom dancing.
On many evenings one will find me thinking about sociology and philosophy and I am happy to discuss different ideas of any shape or form.

And I love travelling, obviously.

Music, Movies, and Books

Vivaldi is my favourite composer, you should check out Philippe Jaroussky singing his arias. Great stuff. I also love musicals, but don't really enjoy most Broadway shows, they often seem kinda artificial.
I like watching a movie every now and then, but don't really know so many. If I had to choose it would be the second Lord of The Rings movie or Duck Soup by the Marx Brothers, they are hilarious.
Anna Karenina is by far my favourite book. It sounds pretentious, but Levin is my favourite character of all books I ever read, and there are a lot of them. He has this enormous will so that he tries to give up his upper class life although not only his fellow aristocrats, but also most peasants that he wants to blend in with think the idea is ridiculous.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

No idea. I rescued a child from drowning once as a life guard. Sounds great, wasn't that much of a heroic act.
I also read all Harry Potter books in 5 days. Does that count as an amazing thing?

Teach, Learn, Share

I guess I can teach people a fair bit about art, if they are interested or first aid, that always comes in handy. Otherwise it's just the German language that I could tell you a few words so that you can impress your friends by knowing one or two super scary long words ;).

What I Can Share with Hosts
