Overview
About Me
Hey there! I'm Soma, from the beautiful region of Kurdistan. I'm into nature, slow travel, and capturing everyday moments through photography. I studied Architectural Studies for my Master’s in Isfahan and lived there for a while, which allowed me to fall in love with historic cities and rich cultures.
I enjoy hiking in the mountains (well, more like real mountain climbing!), camping under the stars, and spending time outdoors. Meditation is now a regular part of my life, it helps me stay grounded and present. I love writing, especially about how people live and feel connected to the spaces around them.
Traveling makes me feel alive. I truly enjoy meeting different people, hearing their stories, and exploring places full of history and culture. I’m also fascinated by languages and different ways of life, and I’d love to make friends from all over the world.
As a guest, I try to be respectful, easygoing, and helpful. And if you host me, I’d love to take some photos of you or your place as a small thank-you gift for your hospitality!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe that the best way to understand a place is through its people. Hotels can’t give you that. But staying with someone local? Sharing meals, stories, ideas—that’s where the magic happens.
I love cultural exchange and really enjoy meaningful conversations about everything from daily life to architecture, art, or random thoughts that pop up over tea. Couchsurfing lets me connect with kind, open-minded people around the world, and that’s exactly what I’m looking for.
If you host me, or I host you, I’d be happy to share stories, cook something simple together, or even take a few portraits of you as a small gift. I truly believe in kindness, sharing, and creating memorable moments through connection.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've visited historical places in Iran.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach:
I’d be happy to share what I know about architecture, especially the concept of “dwelling” in different cultures. I can also teach you a few Kurdish or Persian words, share stories from Kurdistan, and help you take better photos if you're into photography!
Learn:
I'm always excited to learn about new cultures, languages, and daily life in different parts of the world. I love listening to stories and seeing how people live and think in places different from my own.
Share:
I’d love to share travel stories, deep conversations, simple meals, and meaningful moments. I enjoy cultural exchange and believe that the best part of traveling is connecting with people beyond the surface.

Photos of you, your home, or your city as a gift of thanks.
Simple dishes or tea, the way we prepare them in Kurdistan.
