Hi, I am Maya!

I am a person, who likes to walk outside barefoot when it's warm enough and enjoys living in a coastal city. I love coffee, especially with some sweet oat milk in it. I would call myself an activist.

I might be a little shy in the beginning but can be really talkative once you get to know me.

I want to meet new people and learn about new cultures from people worldwide. I may have only little CS experience, but it seems like many open-minded and warm-hearted people are on CS.

My ex-roommate hosted couchsurfers and I met many lovely people that way.

I'm interested in politics, cultures and human rights. I would love to learn more languages!

Equal rights and slowing down climate change are important to me. I have been a member of the Green Party in Finland for more than 6 years now. I'm the vice chair of Helsinki Young Greens and a member of the international working group of Finnish Young Greens. I am a vegetarian and I'm trying to give up buying new clothes, which is pretty easy because of the many trift shops back home.

When I was younger, I also was an active member of an organization that arranges humanist camps for the youth. I guess you could say that organizations are my hobby. :)

I like historical and/or psychological movies with good plots, but movies from other genres are enjoyable, too. I tend to binge watch series on Netflix and right now I'm watching Americab Horror Story.

I listen to everything from Finnish indie music to the Algerian artist Khaled, and from some songs by the Outkast to classical rock. It really depends on the day, on the week, the season and on my mood. But usually, I end up listening to the "lighter" music.
