About Me
Hello everyone,
I'm Jana and live in Bielefeld, Germany. and fit hearing aids for people who don't hear well anymore.
In my house live four other voluntaries from Germany. I like Cajarmarca a lot, it's very calm and has a moderate weather, not too hot. Most people from Peru are different than a lot of people in Germany, more openhearted, I like it :-)
Here I developed a lot, at the beginning of the year it was hard for me speaking a language that I hardly knew and I was very shy. But now I talk more and more and can show, how I really am.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Of course, now I'm on couchsurfing for knowing more of Peru, the Peruan, their culture and how they live. With couchsurfing you can learn more of it than living in a hostel. Also it's better for improving my spanish.
All in all, nevermind if Germany, Peru or another country, Couchsurfing is great for making new friendships and they can show you things of their city, which you'd never see as a normal tourist.
Interests
I like a lot events of every kind, but specially I like festivals of street-theatre, you can see there professional groups of every genre (drama, artistic, comedy...) playing on the street. In Germany I acted in improvation-theatre for years. For example: You are on the stage with a partner and you are acting a scene with a thema, the public advises to you. Then the public gives different emotions and you have to play the scene with this emotion. I like very much to play characters which are completely different to me.
Riding bycicle is great, unfortunately I don't have the possibility to do it in Peru, but In Germany I loved to ride ways especially made for bycicles with beautiful landscapes.
A big dream of mine is to do rafting on the water. I've never done it, maybe I can do it here in Peru.
Because I don't have the chance to ride a bike here, I walk a lot. I want to do trekking-tours, for example in Huaraz with its beautiful nature, but also other places would be great, maybe I can do it with a couchsurfer.
I love a lot to try new recipes and I'm always very happy, when I see, that I made something very delicious, people living in my house always liked, what I cooked/ baked and are always very surprised, when I tell them, that it's vegan (without products of animals). Here in Peru I don't live completely vegan, but I try it everyday a litle bit more.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love metal, but I listen to almost all kind of music, just techno, hip hop and most of the charts I don't like a lot. Of course, now I also listen a lot to Peruan music.
I like various genres of movies, just not action or horror. But my absolutely favourite movie is the romantic-comedy "Le fabouleux destin de Amelie Poulain" from France. There are a lot of French films I like a lot.
I don't read a lot, but when I read, I read the same genres like I watch as a movie.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
To start the year in Peru. I had a lot of doubts and thought of not to start it, but now I'm very happy to be here :-)
Teach, Learn, Share
If someone is interested, I can teach a bit of german and I'd like to improve my spanish, I'd prefer not to talk in English with my host.
Also I can share diferent (vegan) recipes.
What I Can Share with Hosts
How I wrote above, I can cook for the host or we can cook together, maybe making a trekking-tour and just having a nice time :-)
