About Me

Married with two kids. I love my family and the kids will probably pepper you with questions or drag you into their games. My wife has her own experience travelling through South and North America.
I love board and card games, often making up my own. I also enjoy philosophical discussions. I can be very opinionated at times. I work with young people who face a lot of disadvantage and I believe the world should be kinder and fairer than it often is.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I had a great experience couch surfing in my youth and would be interested in giving back now I own a house with a caravan. Also when visiting Australia you really should get out of the capital cities. Bendigo is a regional centre easy to get to by train from Melbourne. It's not full country but a step in the right direction.

Interests

Film, storytelling, meeting people, making friends, social justice, and learning about the wonderful world.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love 80's American films (Some Kind OF WOnderful, Pretty In Pink) but also enjoy a range of different movies.
For me a great book moves forward through action rather than description and has three dimensional characters (like Pride and Prejudice) but can be any genre.
I love a wide range of music from Hank Williams to Scroobius Pip to Janis Joplin to Bulgarian Folk Music, to Billy Bragg.... and so on. I'm always up for learning about new bands.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I camped on my own in the snow on the Isle de Madeleine and cooked my dinner on a scavenged bit of metal.

Teach, Learn, Share

Ooh boy, I have a ton of board and card games I'd love to show you. But I can also just offer you a place to relax.
I have been experimenting with cocktails lately.

Anything you can show my kids - like magic tricks or just stories of your country - would be great.
