ABOUT ME

I have a hearty and infectious bear laugh :) I work in Jersey and am often in Philly, organizing with activists and expanding my palate with friends. I also enjoy spending time with my family's 3 cats and dog. I'm easy to please and love adult coloring books, beer, movies, and sweets. I am an optimist looking for queer and genderfluid-friendly new friends!

PHILOSOPHY

Live and let live, in every sense of the phrase :) I live in my own world where what you think matters more than what you wear. I play with words in my head and laugh at myself often. I try not to take myself too seriously. I put a lot of thought into the words I use and the person I want to be. I am a lifelong student.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to meet interesting people who have something to say. I want to contribute to unique life experiences through dialogue and creating stories. I like to do things I'm usually too scared to do. I savor human connection and full belly laughs.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I only heard about CouchSurfing on NPR, and immediately knew I had to try it. A friend of mine drove cross-country (US) and CouchSurfed the whole way. Her blog made it look/sound/smell amazing. I used this website once while traveling to Montreal and met some incredible lifelong friends. I envision my use of this site as a way to meet like-minded, open-minded, radical/progressive individuals- changing the world one ice cream cone at a time :)

I love movies! If you have a good recommendation pass it along :) I love horror movies that make me think. Documentaries are usually a winner.

I have been especially into bluegrass lately, but I'll listen to most anything. Not a fan of top 40, but I love dance music.

Most of what I read in my free time is non-fiction.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

One time I went to a sleepaway Hindu camp when I was a teenager. A yoga guru was teaching us some postures at the crack of dawn and he asked who wanted to try a more difficult, advanced technique. Of course, I raised my hand. I'm always up for contributing to a good story. He asked me to do some jala neta with a basic neti pot, which most people do nowadays anyway. But then he asked me to do it again with ghee (clarified butter). I smelled delicious all day.

Oh, and one time in India my sister and I were stuck on a runaway camel in middle of the Rajasthani desert. That's the wildest thing that's ever happened to me.

I have taught workshops nationally and internationally on decolonzing sex positivity and fat trauma. I'd be happy to discuss any of these topics with you and any of the topics of my personal research on topics like sexual colonialism, ethnosexual racism, or global feminisms :)
