About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Go on a quest to do awesome stuff

ABOUT ME

I'm a Norwegian. That means I'm an expert in fishing, eating said fish, living among bears, moose and wolves and never experiencing true summer (for those curious, summer is when the lakes are nearly ice free).

I would consider myself highly easygoing and not very serious, I tend to crack jokes at almost everything and anything. I've played piano for about 11 years, I have a saxophone but I'm terrible, I can't sing even if my life depended on it and I don't know guitar. I love photography and astronomy but not astrology. I'm not religious but don't care too much.

I love adventures and exploring new places, especially new food. Even the most disgusting food is nice. Like cockroaches, spiders, scorpions, dog and live locusts. I have a passion for languages and try to pick up something from everywhere I go. I love seeing differences in cultures and traditions compared to back home.

Right now I finished my almost 10 month long backpacking journey through South-East Asia and will be going to study something in 2014. I have no idea what I want to study yet but hopefully I'll know soon. So the time now goes to reading books, catching up on movies and TV series, working out and working.

PHILOSOPHY

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
- Mark Twain

Death is nothing to us, since when we are, death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
- Epicurus

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Since I do not have my own couch to share I can "only" meet people, walk and talk, bike and hike, eat and greet, share and stare and experience things together.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've not hosted/been hosted by anybody but I've met quite a few people from here. Been on a few meetups in both Bangkok, Seoul and Taipei but keep forgetting to add people that I meet. *ahem*

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Visit and seeing Angkor Wat and all the other temples. Completely blew my mind.
- Climbing Mt. Rinjani, a 3,726 m high volcanic mountain in Indonesia. Absolutely amazing and stunning.
- Living with a local tribe in Northern Thailand for a few days and sharing stores with them.
- Zip lining through the jungle in Laos on The Gibbon Experience.
- Seeing the rice terraces at Banaue, Philippines.
- Meeting and sharing a short glimpse of time together with people from all over the world

Teach, Learn, Share

Jack of all trades, master of none is probably how I would describe myself. Above average at a lot but not very good at much. I play piano, I've got green fingers with computers and I know a little bit about almost everything. Mostly useless factoids.

I also love learning. Anything goes. A big passion is languages but I love any kind of knowledge/skill. Knowledge is power, so the more the merrier.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belarus, Cambodia, Croatia, Estonia, France, Germany, Indonesia, Iraq, Laos, Latvia, Lithuania, Philippines, Poland, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, United States, Viet Nam
