About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to learn about you!
ABOUT ME
I'm young but what I lack in age, I make up for it in curiosity.
I like traveling. It's something that has always intrigued me. I enjoy moving around and meeting new, interesting people. I can't stay anywhere for too long and the travel bug always pulls me in some random direction. I like exploring cities but the countryside is normally a hidden treasure. I like going beyond normal museum tours (though I love history!) and rather want traveling to be more about exploring and trying to get a feel for what location X and its inhabitants are really about. I studied International Relations and French, but I don't limit myself to just those subjects. I love a healthy debate about Politics, technology, the environment, etc. We all have different opinions shaped by our environment and perceptions. Languages fuel my curiosity. There isn't one out there that I don't want to learn (but I have to limit myself, I guess!). It's the WAY to talk to people from all walks of life and learn about their true selves, their culture, their essence. History fascinates me. Literature entices me. Aldous Huxley is inspirational.
I love cooking and eating. Food is an integral part of traveling. Life is amazing. I just have hit as many aspects of the unknown as possible--discovering new people, places, cultures, etc. Everything is interesting.
PHILOSOPHY
Life for me is about meeting people and making as many experiences as possible. I live my life to the fullest with NO regrets. I want to discover the world (as cliche as that sounds) and learn and find out about things I wouldn't be able to by staying in my home town. New Orleans has been a great home to me, but it's time to venture out. I want to learn YOU, as weird as that sounds. But what are you about, what is it that makes you, YOU. Your unique characteristics.
I want to live in as many new cities as possible and have many adventures. Life is just one adventure at a time. We just have to embrace it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
By couchsurfing, hosting and meeting others through CS events!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I went to Bern, Switzerland with a friend. We couchsurfed for the first time and met an interesting couple. Their apartment spoke so much about them, and we had a traditional meal--"raclette" (an interactive meal, a bit like fondue, except you melt the raclette cheese yourself) and then continued the night with a healthy does of conversation and wine. The evening was quite nice as we discussed a range of topics. They were lovely, welcoming, and warm, which is what I hope to do so for other couchsurfers, like you! It was a wonderful experience and since then, I've had plenty of experiences similar to it. CS is a wonderful community about meeting and forming relationships with people all over the world. It's a gateway into the mind of others despite cultural or physical boundaries.
Interests
Music, reading, traveling, exploring, cooking, etc.
I love cooking. I enjoy taking a recipe and adding my own twist to it--turning into my version of whatever it is. I love spicy and strong flavors and thoroughly enjoy cooking for others.
As I've already probably mentioned, I really enjoy meeting people and their company. It seems that we are becoming much more similar living in this ever increasing globalized world, but we are all quite unique. Our environment, culture, language, government, family, and really everything forms our perceptions and dogma. People are fascinating and what they have to say is even more so. We all have our differences, may it be because of our environment/upbringing, language/culture, our type of education, etc. We all have so much to say. I look forward to meeting you.
Languages--how else will we be able to talk! I want to learn as many as I can so I can speak to you in your native tongue (or at least attempt)!
I find a wide range of subjects fascinating, and if I don't know much about something, I want to learn more about it. I'm a curious soul, that's for sure.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One thing that I found quite interesting was that I celebrated a Swedish Midsummer with my dear Swedish friend. It was quite an amazing experience especially since we celebrated it in a traditional manner. The day started off with going making a crown made by flowers and twigs and took that to a local area where family and friends from the town meet up and sing and dance in traditional ways. Followed by going back to my friends house and everyone cooking a certain meal and in the end about 12 of us, including my friends father and younger sister, all eating together and having a wonderful night together. We ate for about 4 hours and then we continued talking and being in each others company for about another 4. Even though we were in Sweden, we were really only around 4 true Swedes and had people from all over the world representing Australia, Mexico, Germany, Norway, and more. This experience is something I will treasure for years to come. I love meeting with different types of people and finding the common interests and comparing your respective country and upbringings that we all come from.
Another life changing event was the year I spend in Aix-en-Provence in France. I did a study abroad program that has dramatically impacted me. There is no way I am going to leave the same person as I came. I just finished my year and now I am traveling. This experience that I had was so enriching and I was able to encounter all different types of people and learn so much from them that has made me a better person today.
