About Me
Hi I'm Sophia, I'm 20 years old and currently living in Westchester, New York where I work as a nanny for a very lovely family with two kids. Originally I'm from Berlin, Germany. I have a work visa for one year in the USA. In August and the beginning of September I got vacation and I'm planning to travel to California where I'm looking for a couch to stay. I'm hoping to meet some nice friendly people in the cities that I'm going to visit :)
In general I'm a very friendly and relaxed person, very easy going. I like to go out with friends, meet people and try out new things. this is the first time I'm going to travel by myself. I'm kind of nervous but in a good way. cant wait!!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think couchsurfing is a great opportunity to meet new people at new locations that you haven't been to before. Especially for people who are travelling alone its a great way to connect with people who can tell or maybe show you more than just the typical touri stuff. This is the first time I'm couchsurfing and I'm very excited for the experience :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I love the book the pillars of the earth. Ken Follett is such a great author. the theme of the story is not even something that I'm interested in, but its written so great that its definetly my favorite book!
In terms of music I basically listen to everything but hard rock or heavy metal. since I'm living in the US I listen to hip hop a lot, but I also love indie rock, alternative, electro, house and classic. the best concert that I have been to was Parov Stelar! its electro swing and it was so much fun! another great concert that I have been to was Angus Stone, loved it!
When it comes to movies I'm very girly, I wish I would love those fancy independent movies but I like romantic comedies and dramas way more. But right now I cant stop watching Freaks&Geeks on Netflix, love it
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Skydiving is the most amazing thing I have done I guess. Also the bravest. The moment before you jump out of the airplane is crazy, but I would do it every day if I could! when youre back on the ground you feel like you can do anything! its amazing!
Teach, Learn, Share
There is not really something I could teach except for some german I think. i would love to learn how to skateboard like really good and do some tricks. i can skateboard but not so good that i would skate on the streets, to become that good that's my next goal
