My name is Sophia, I am 20 years old and from Germany.
I am originally from the northern part of Germany, at the coast. Right now I’m studying near Frankfurt. I spent my year as an Au Pair in the USA and travelled a lot. Now, that I am back in Germany I ‘m trying to travel as much as possible in Europe.
I’d describe myself as an open minded, adventurous traveler and person, always up for new fun things to do. I love getting to know people from all over the world, hanging out together and sharing interests! The Au Pair year gave me an awesome opportunity to meet people from all over the world.
I love to get to know new cultures and history , their food, their music and their traditions.

I think Couchsurfing is the best way to get to know a Country/ City with the people who live there. I think the locals are the best tour guides one could wish for!
I love having a connection to the city with locals I met, so Couchsurfing gives the perfect opportunity to fulfill that.
Since I used it before, I can say It’s my favorite way of traveling and seeing places. The hosts I met were always so welcoming and nice, showed us the “secret” non- touristy places of a city which I loved! I love hanging out with new people, sharing interests and finding similarities.

I used to dance ballet for 12 years and I’m definitely starting dancing again. I love photography of all kinds. I’m interested in art and in new cultures and their traditions.

Usually I’m bad in memorizing certain movies I watched before or liked, but one I definitely remember is the movie “Lion” (and me remembering a movie actually means a lot!). Besides that, I love watching documentaries about all kinds of topics. Oh and I like watching modern family, it’s a funny series!
I’m not that much of a reader, but I prefer biographies about people or books which are about living life to the fullest, or how to be a better self.
I really like listening to The Weeknd, which is basically one of my favorites. I’m always open to new music of all kinds and genres.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I went on a Roadtrip along the west coast of the USA with other Au Pairs during my Au Pair year.
We were 4 girls (from the Netherlands, Australia, Denmark and Germany) and started traveling from Las Vegas all the way up to San Francisco and back to Las Vegas. We visited breathtaking National Parks and Cities. During that traveling, we used Couchsurfing a lot of times and had great experiences. The Hosts showed us around in their city and we went out for dinner and other cool places, just had a fun time.
