Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Any place on the map is not about sights, the landscape, or the weather for me. It's about the people and their unique culture and what better way is there to experience it than to dive right in and spend the night with someone who's a part of the place?
I genuinely enjoy becoming fully consumed by the customs, language, and culture of a place and I hope Couchsurfing can catalyze the process. Another reason is that my wallet is currently being filled by my parents (since I'm a student with an irregular low paying job as a tutor) and I don't want to be a continuous drain on their bank account.
