Hey my name is Sophia, I am an 21 year-old girl living in big colorful Berlin.
I was raised in a small village in Thuringia of about 700 habitants. After finishing school I wanted to move to a big city and I chose the biggest one in Germany right away! I love how Berlin is so colorful, the different ways people live here fascinate me and I still get euphoric when I discover new places I haven't been to yet.
I enjoy going to flea markets, taking photos, crafting, open air cinema, theatre performances and that stuff.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the idea of meeting new people and getting to know other people's lifes and perspectives, it's a great thing. Also, it is a cheap way to travel, of course. The fact that you don't get paid for hosting someone and letting him or her enter your personal life and space reveals the true background of this awesome platform.

Interests

Well well... I feel like I have too many! There is not enough time to pursue it all.
I really enjoy music, especially making music with others- I like to sing. It always freaks me out hearing the harmonies while practicing and trying out things, in a positive way.
I love dancing, going out with friends and Do It Yourself stuff. I like to experiment with my room, it's my creative space.
Photography is a big part of my live, too, since this is what I was learning professionally for more than one year. Right now I am spplying for universities to study communication at.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The best choice I've made yet was to go abroad at the age of 16. I lived on a farm in the Rocky Mountains with a big and lovely family with animals around.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my enthusiasm about Berlin with you.
I personally think doing the sightseeing stuff is great, but when I am traveling I wanna see what the citisans do in their spare time! So if I have time I'll be glad to visit a museum or exhibition whith you but we can also search for new places and I will recommend some of the nice "insider" places I've already been at to you, such as small cinemas, flea markets and cafés nearby.
If you're interested in photography we can share some knowledge and ideas and even take nice pictures together.
Unfortunately I am a bad cook so if you can teach me a tasty recipe I'd be super happy. (My room mates are good cooks, just in case you have the same talent as I do haha!)
