Hello, I'm Sophie! I'm a maths/biology PhD student at the University of Warwick studying infectious diseases. Travelling and exploring new places is exciting and I like any excuse to get out of the UK and away from my PhD.

It's so interesting to see what life is like in different countries! Staying in a hotel or hostel doesn't always give you that, but couchsurfing is great- I've seen parts of cities that I would never have visited and stayed with people I might never have met otherwise!

I did my PADI Open Water and Advanced scuba diving qualifications in Malaysia. I loved it so much that I'm currently planning to do my Divemaster training once I finish my PhD!
