About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Teach my cat to answer telemarketing calls for me.

ABOUT ME

Hello, I'm Sophie, from Melbourne, Australia. It's a really lovely place, do visit. I don't really know how to describe myself, except in terms of TV show characters: quite Daria, often Anya from Buffy, a bit Fran from Black Books, and more Lindsay Bluth Fünke than I'd care to admit.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

All wonderful, fantastic, insightful, met many quality characters and slept on many comfortable couches - even some beds now and then. I have not yet hosted but look forward to doing so when I return, though my cat may pose a problem to allergy sufferers. Also she is a murderous beast.

Interests

Dog-walking, star-gazing, stripes, socks, and Oxford commas.

Music, Movies, and Books

Whenever asked about music the first thing to spring to mind is always Bjork - old habit, she carried me through teenage years and for this i am indebted. Movies are wonderful things.. the director Chantal Akerman landed me in Russia since which time the joy of Soviet films has manifested in my life. 'Irony of Fate' i, along with all of Russia, watched on New Year's Eve and really it's terrific. But books are the best, really all of them - good literature teachers have shown me that even by those initially cast aside with derision i can end up fascinated, there's nothing more magical. Better we talk about it - i'm always happy for reccos.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

well, almost every day i find myself running across a six-lane highway because somehow it makes more sense than the stupid underground passage separating metro from home, and almost every time i am amazed at my own survival. the underground passage is perhaps not the stupid one in this case..

What I Can Share with Hosts

inevitably i will probably end up showing you photos of my dog
