Hello! Bonjour! I'm Sophie and I will be travelling around New Zealand from March 2015 with my French companion Pierre. Having both met on the island of La Réunion, and having completed a challenging but awesome cycle tour Paris-Barcelona together last year, we love travelling and meeting great people with things like couchsurfing and helpx. Looking forward to touring around and meeting the kiwis who know the islands best!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On La Réunion (sort of between Mauritius and Madagascar but still just a dot of an island in the middle of the Indian Ocean) - I volunteered to translate the subtitles for a documentary which some marine biologists had made about cetacean communication. My 'payment' was that I got to go on a few of their research trips, snorkelling with bottlenose dolphins, wild and free as they should be.

Can teach French, my friend Pierre could give an art lesson too, and hopefully he'll have his portable digeridoo with him too for people to have a try!
