I am Kim, the Director of an English language school in Siem Reap, Angkor, Cambodia. We currently have 110 students ranging from ages 3- 13 plus an adult evening class!
We offer a range of full-time and part-time classes available from morning until evening and running from Monday to Friday. Also, a report writer interested in a developing country's education is an opportunity to join me in conducting a research project on how teachers are teaching and students are learning. Also after the pandemic, I am looking for a couchsurfer who is interested in teaching English and helping develop proposals for grants or fundraising to survive my academy for the next 1 year.

Due to the fact, Kim needed volunteers who can help to move his program forward so he can host more volunteers from couchsuring.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am the Director of an English learning centre and am looking for volunteers (both native and non-native English speakers) to help with my learning center.
Depending on your experience, you can either be a teaching assistant (helping local Khmer teachers) or lead the class yourself and produce lesson plans, etc. Or you could begin as a teaching assistant and progress to leading the class as your confidence grows.
Volunteers would work from Monday-Friday and the hours are flexible and can range from 3-4 hours a day or more depending on volunteers' flexibility covering either morning, afternoon, and/or evening classes. The student's ages range from 5-12 years plus an adult evening class.
The school is half NGO and half social enterprise and is self-sustaining relying on student contributions and donations.

For managers or fundraising volunteers, Help Director to develop the proposal for the grant in order to support the teaching and learning department and especially can host more couchsurfers.

I have helped five families in my community to have a better live, their children staying in school by provided loaned them the cows. For more talk once we meet.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am offering English and Chinese languages, Computer courses, and Khmer traditional dancing to the following target groups:
- English for kindergarten ages from 3 to 5 years old.
- English for young adults from ages 6-12 years old.
- English/ Chinese, and computer for Adults from 13 years old up.

Due to Siem Reap is a tourist area, therefore English, Chinese, and computers have played a vital important to improve the communities economy, and these languages’ knowledge will guide their Education at University and have opportunities to expose to international business.
