ABOUT ME

Soultret is derived from the English word soul and Slovenian word "portret" meaning "portrait" in Slovenian.

Sebastjan Å eremet was born in Slovenia, has no formal art education. His knowledge was developed by intense work and street art life. His life e is dedicated to free alternative art and his goal is to make a of a soul portrait.

He masters a knowledge of some artistic technics, using pencil, ink, pastels, acrylic, oil, and lately airbrush.
In his art studio in Slovenia, we can also find big collection of carnival masks made by him and co worker Nejc Smodiš. Sebastjan (Seba) is a founder and leader of artistic squat in Sokolski dom, small town of Novo mesto.
Surrealistic motives that he paints are full of hidden symbols and many of them have written explanation in poetry writing. His work expresses sorrow, absurd nonsense of present world and people, who each and every day follow the paths of greed and groveling before everything what is secret, but in essence cursed!

Authors thoughts:
By the prospect of present-day panorama, everybody has its own explanation what good and evil is! Only rare people will strip off heavy dress of egoism, and once they are naked, they can admit how cruel is the frozen wind of human action against other people and nature,... We rather live in a bubble of comfort and float over the thorns of reality! Art shouldn't deny this by hiding itself behind a pallet of sweet colors, censored thoughts and then run like a junkie when he looks himself in the mirror! It is hard to wake up from the surrounding, because people do not like the truth!

Alone i paint what i see and feel, i am not a pessimist, i have only learned how to look the world in a alternative way! I hope that my work will give you a different thought on a different world in a different way!
