ABOUT ME

ENGLISH: I like to spend more time in fewer places while travelling. I'm interested in obtaining new skills and my goal is to learn to cook something new from every destination to which I travel.

While I don't mind living in the city, my heart really yearns for the beach, the mountains and to be surrounded in greenery.

ESPAÑOL: A mí me gusta pasar más tiempo en menos lugares cuando viajar. Me interesa obtener habilidades nuevas y mi meta es aprender a cocinar un plato de cada destino que visito.

Aunque no me molesta vivir en la ciudad, mi corazon realmente desea la playa, las montañas y estar rodeado por la naturaleza.

PHILOSOPHY

ENGLISH:
“To live contently with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion, to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich; to study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly; to bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasions, hurry never. In other words, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common.”
This letter from Bruce Lee to his future wife Linda in 1963 basically sums it all up for me.

I'm not into tradition for it's own sake - I believe in having a reason for everything I do, not doing something 'because it's the done thing'.

I always look for the timeless elements of a person's character; those things that you know wouldn't change no matter what situation the person might be in.

Esta carta de Bruce Lee a su novia Linda en 1963 basicamente resume todo para mí.

No sigo la tradición por seguir - creo en tener motivo por todo que lo que haga, no en hacer algo porque "es lo que hacemos por aquí".

Siempre busco en alguien los elementos del carácter que existan fuera del los tiempos; esas cosas que se sabe que no cambiaría en cualquier situación.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

ENG: I haven't used the network much for travelling, but rather to gain information about local events and language swaps, etc.

I'd like to use the site to meet and stay with some nice people on my journey to South America in 2015-16.

ESP: No he usado Couchsurfing mucho para alojamiento, sino que informarme de eventos, intercambios de idioma etc.

Me gustaría usarlo para encontrar gente y quedarme con algunas personas amables en mi viaje a Sudamérica en 2015-16.

Interests

ENG: I have a passion for music, though it certainly doesn't have to have lyrics in my language, or have been released 5 minutes ago. I'm really just interested in what I haven't heard yet. I seek out live music as often as I can and I love more than anything to be surprised by musicians creating something new or unexpected.

I have made it a hobby in the last few years to take photographs of street art, so I now have a collection of around 10,000 shots. Once I began to notice the amazing works around me, I knew I could never un-notice them.

ESP: Mi apasiona la música, aunque no me importa que la letra no sea en mi idioma, ni que la canción hubiera escrito en los últimos 5 minutos. En realidad, me interesa cualquier música que ya no haya oído. Busco música en vivo tanto como posible y me encanta estar sorprendido por los músicos que hagan algo diferente o inesperado.

Me he pasado muchas horas en los últimos años sacando fotos del arte urbano, entonces ya tengo una colección de más que 10, 000 imágenes. A partir del momento en que me di cuenta de la calidad de las obras alrededor, sabía que intentar a ignorarlas sería imposible.

I'll always be a fan of the Dune novels, these days I'm reading a lot of Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett and a dash of non-fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

ENG: One of my most surreal moments was sitting on a row boat with a group of music students, witnessing and recording a private sitar and tabla concert on the Ganges river in Varanasi, one of the world's oldest cities.

ESP: Uno de los eventos más surrealistas de mi vida ocurrió en un a barca con un grupo de estudiantes de música, donde tuvimos la oportunidad de experienciar y grabar un concierto privado de sitar y tabla en el río Ganges en Varanasi, una de las ciudades más antiguas del mundo.

ENG: I would be happy to help anyone improve their English as I am a native speaker, but maybe I could help with Spanish or Portuguese as well, although I don't speak these as well as English.

I would love to swap recipes with anyone - home made food is the best!

ESP: Me alegre ayudar a alguien con el inglés, como es mi lengua materna.
También, podría ayudar con español o portugués, aunque no hablo estes idiomas tan bien como el inglés.

Me encantaría hacer intercambio de recetas - ¡La comida casera es la mejor!
