About Me

Someday I must experience the chase scene at the end of The Blues Brothers.

I recently graduated from UC Irvine and now I'm researching lung cancer in northern California. I was on the rowing team in college, so since then I've enjoyed working out in almost every way possible. My favorites are cycling, rock climbing, and skiing. I still row when I get the chance. I love all things science and engineery, travelling, and pub trivia.

Never Give Up. I'd rather fail than quit at something, and I've been pleasantly surprised with the results of this on several occasions. Some other good quotes to live by:

"Don't Panic"

"Don't take life too seriously, we're not gonna make it out alive"

Astronomy Cycling Rowing Scuba Diving Building things Fixing things Rock and roll bikes Photography Learning to cook things from scratch Driving highway 1 all the way up (or down) California Traveling Seeing things in person that most people can recognize in a picture Seeing things that most people have never heard of, but wish they had Motorcycles

Some great movies: The lives of Others, Pirates of Silicon Valley, Stranger than Fiction, Most Wes Anderson movies, In Bruges, Back to the Future (all of them), The Big Lebowski, I can go on

TV shows: The Simpsons (though I haven't seen an episode in a few years, the old stuff is the best), Arrested Development, Archer, 30 Rock, Modern Family, Mad Men, Daily Show, Colbert Report

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Possibly the most amazing thing I have ever seen is the Roman Aqueduct at Pont du Gard France. I saw it in 2002 on a high school trip, and the sight was incredible. We all ended up jumping off a boulder into the river. I should find those pictures.
