I am a gay "bear" who can be shy at first but also maybe a little too informative once you get to know me. I enjoy traveling and meeting new people but my budget is very tight and I generally can't afford a hotel if it's longer than a weekend. I have promised several friends that I would visit but some of them have a limited housing situation and cannot put me up for a week. Due to my general lack of boundaries, sharing a living space with a near stranger is absolutely fine with me, possibly even a plus. Staying in a hotel room all by myself doesn't sound appealing after I'm done decompressing.
