About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I suppose my current mission is to get out of this country, and hop the pond to Europe.

ABOUT ME

So I was at a dead-end boring job in Santa Fe, working as a waiter in a sad, dreary hotel restaurant. I knew that I was going to take a year off before going to college, but another month in that place would have destroyed my will to go on. The world was my oyster, or so I thought, and my delusions of grandeur did not include serving a bunch of rich, snobby tourists day in and day out. So after talking to my aunt, I packed my bags, stuffed them into my muscley, road warrior Hyundai Accent, and set out across country, camping along the way.

Three months later I find myself in a place a never would have predicted. I work as a full time nanny (so instead of figuratively wiping the asses of the rich at a restaurant, i now do it literally), and my daily activities include cooking, cleaning, listening to my boss gossip, watching three boys, etc. I actually love the job, the family is nice, and the kids are great.

I've got a one way ticket to Paris on January, 20th. After that, I'm not quite sure, but something like France, Spain, Morocco, Egypt, Cyprus, Southern Turkey, Greek Isles, Istanbul. Anything beyond that depends on time and money.

PHILOSOPHY

Basically not to be afraid of the unknown. Putting ourselves in unfamiliar situations teaches us not only about something new and mysterious, but also about ourselves. Traveling, it isn't the museums or famous sites that teach you about another culture, it is the people you meet. Stay open minded and always remember that SHIT HAPPENS, and sometimes there's nothing you can do about it.
