ABOUT ME

I am a happy go lucky guy from Vancouver, Canada that is trying to discover everything that the world has to offer. I am currently a Master's student studying Tourism Management in Kolding, Denmark. Before 2014, I had never travelled outside of North America, which changed when I lived in Vienna, Austria for six months. To date, I have visited 30 countries around the world.

I am outgoing and very friendly, with a slightly random sense of humour. I love meeting new people and learning more about the incredible world around me. Just for full disclosure, I am gay, so if you're not comfortable with that you probably shouldn't host me or ask me to host you ;)

If I am coming your way, and you are interested in hosting me in your city, it would be greatly appreciated and I would love to come learn more about you and your country :) And I could definitely return the favour if you ever decide to come visit Canada in the future (or if we can fit you into my small dorm room somehow!)

A life lived idly is a life not lived at all.

I am outgoing, ambitious and know what I want in life. Despite being a hard worker, I know how to relax and have fun, and I am very social and love meeting new people.

I have only couchsurfed twice so far, but they were amazing experiences and I look forward to future CS adventures!

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a massive music fan, and I like just about everything across the spectrum, from pop and rock to electronic and hip hop. Some of my favourite musicians currently are The 1975, Dua Lipa, Troye Sivan, Christine and the Queens, Years & Years, Marina and the Diamonds, Bon Iver, Disclosure, Allie X, Ariana Grande, Lauv, Kehlani, MØ, ALMA, Deaf Havana, Vampire Weekend, M83, and Tegan & Sara.

I am a pretty big movie fan, but again my interests are all over the place. Some of my absolute favourites are Grease, The Shawshank Redemption, Call Me By Your Name, Schindler's List, Pitch Perfect, La La Land, Mean Girls, Up in the Air, Moonlight, V for Vendetta, Her and Black Swan.

In terms of books, my favourite authors are Douglas Coupland, David Sedaris and Kurt Vonnegut.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't know if these are the craziest things I've seen or done, but definitely some memorable experiences nonetheless.

Buying authentic churros from a street vendor and then being chased by kids with firecrackers in a random Mexican village outside of Puerto Vallarta, before being whisked off to a day-long private boating trip around Banderas Bay (complete with snorkelling and multiple whale & dolphin sightings).

Spending a night out meeting new friends on the Reeperbahn in Hamburg, before wandering down to the Fischmarkt for an early morning fischbrötchen, live music & beer.

Completing a full day of exploring gorgeous Budapest with an incredible meal at an authentic Hungarian restaurant, before going to an amazing ruins bar... then losing my group and wandering (lost) around Budapest for an hour and a half trying to find my hostel, eventually succeeding with the help of locals I met along the way.
