About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Enjoying a year studying abroad, learning about many things, mostly food!
ABOUT ME
I come from a small town in Canada, and have been exploring the world through travel and university since 2009. I love meeting new people, and also meeting up with old friends far and wide. I am happiest outdoors, have challenged myself to 365 days of meditation this year, and am addicted to matcha tea. :)
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that the world is a wonderful and beautiful place, and that everyone should get out and experience it. Life must be met with an open mind, and a willingness to learn from our mistakes. I refuse to regret anything. If it hadn't happened, I wouldn't be who I am today.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I haven't been on in a while, due to being at school and not having space to host. However, I think the idea is wonderful, and intend to use it more in the future, and also to host as soon as I have more than a yoga mat to offer!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first couchsurfing experience was having someone come and stay while I was living with my parents. My family was apprehensive about the whole idea, but as it turned out, he was a shining example of a good couch surfer.
Since then I haven't been actively surfing, due to space restrictions in my own places, but now that I am back in Europe for a while I would like a chance to travel and meet some locals before returning home.
Interests
I love art in all its forms. For visual art I like to work in graphite, acrylic paints and clay. I also play a bit of guitar - it's my relaxation time when I'm done studying for the day.
When I'm at home on our farm I love to horseback ride and waterski with my family. I spend a lot of time hiking around as a firefighter most summers, although last year I was working for a community garden project in the city, which was also a wonderful way to spend the season!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Been able to talk to my 96 year old Grandmother about her life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could help with French, and would be happy to practice my (very basic) Spanish.
I am not an incredible guitar player, but would be able to teach basic chords.
I study sustainable agriculture, and am always happy to talk about any/all aspects of food! I'm also doing a diploma in speech and drama, so if you're interested in theatre at all, I definitely have some plays to recommend.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am a very positive person, and always happy to exchange stories, experiences and thoughts. Of course, if you ever end up in Canada, even if I don't have a couch, you would definitely have an enthusiastic tour guide. :)
