About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To return home to L.A. after two challenging, invigorating and eye opening years in CT. And from there... the sky's the limit!

ABOUT ME

I love people, I love traveling. I love writing and discussing concepts with people that center on our commonalities and how we can create a better world in which all are fed and happy -- win/win situations. I am a huge animal lover and exploring how the energy work I do can benefit animals as well.

I have much more international travel to do, things have been stagnant the past several years in that regard, but I have toured SE Asia (lived in Singapore for 1 year) and seen parts of Germany, the UK, and South Africa, Caribbean and Mexico/Canada.

I have also written for Fodor's Travel Books in the past -- the California books (Death Valley and Mohave Desert Chapter), the San Francisco books (recreation and beaches) and a B & B Book up and down the East and West side of the Sierras. Was a great excuse to explore things I ordinarily wouldn't have thought of.

PHILOSOPHY

The world is a great place and so are all of us in it. The more we embrace that the more we'll see just how fantastic of an adventure life really is. There's so much to discover and learn, through nature, through people, and I intend to enjoy as much of this adventure as I can. It's all an illusion anyway, so why not pick the one you want to live? I remind myself once in a while to push the envelope, take risks or do things that kind of scare me. It keeps life real.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I surfed two years ago when I drove across country from CA to New England. I've spent these two years in CT and will now be returning home to CA. Once settled back in, I hope to be able to act as a host as well.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had some great experiences on the way East. Stopped in Tuscon, El Paso, Charlotte, and D.C. as a couch surfer and met some wonderful and warm people at each stop.

Interests

Fitness, spirituality, healing, reading and writing, independent and foreign films, music, dance, animals, the outdoors (hiking, sailing, etc.), travel, world cultures and religions, making the world a better place one person at a time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Watched a leopard in Africa, while on safari, jump out of her tree, walk to the back of the jeep where I was sitting so that no one else could see her but me, catch my eye, and proceed too give herself a cat bath, all the while making sure I was watching. Got to swim in a bay in Kona, Hawaii with wild dolphins who a local told me come out twice a day to play with the residents and then go deeper out to sea. Walked through the ancient, former capital of Thailand, Ayutaya. Lived, worked and taught in Singapore and acclimated so well people thought I was a local. Moved to a place on the East Coast I'd never seen before, found work, fantastic people and housing, taught workshops, made friends and realized that I can change my life whenever I want just by knowing I can.

Teach, Learn, Share

We are magnificent beings with an enormous capacity for growth and change. We just need to stay open to it and resist the temptation to sit in our comfort zone for too long.
