Music, Movies, and Books

all kinds of music, mostly of the live variety. i have three bookshelves full of books so i can't even answer that question...i guess my favs would be Jonathan Safran Foer, Margret Atwood, Bukowski, Flannery O'Connor. as for movies i love documentaries (especially ones about food, other cultures or stickin' it to the man), foreign and indie films, like anything by Cédric Klapisch's (although "Paris" is my all-time favorite) and "A Complete History of my Sexual Failures", and of course mindless slapstick comedies..."Anchorman" never gets old. and mumblecore. love mumblecore.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

holding the actual fossil specimen of "Paranthropus robustus" in my hands.

Teach, Learn, Share

i do science...i am happy to share my knowledge of evolution and ancient climate over beer anytime :) i also like to talk about social justice. i go to africa every summer for fieldwork. i can talk about that a whole lot.
