ABOUT ME

Mix of us: cinema studies, yoga, folklore, cooking (vegetarian), clowning, music, theater, reading, laughing, relaxing, traveling, hiking and fooling around:)

Andrea: I am a calm, patient and humorous human being. I like to smile and I like laughing. I like being up side down and lying on the floor or the ground to get another perspective on the world and my environment:)
____________________________________________
Garðar: I am curios and easy going. Calm and humorous. I like seeing new things and doing new stuff. I want to widen my horizon. See new objects. Touch new textiles, smell different smells and so forth.

We do not smoke so we smell good:)

PHILOSOPHY

Andrea: Don´t think...feel! -Bruce Lee :)

Garðar: Every thing is interesting.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Now we are traveling for the first time but we hope to be able to host people in not to distant future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Neither of us have had previous experience of couch surfing but we really like to get started.

Interests

Andrea: I am interested in so many things that I cant really...all right. Lets start with basics. I like food and learning about food. I like the ideas of raw food and living food. I am a vegetarian and I am very conservative about what I buy. I really like hiking and being in the nature, I love doing yoga outside. I love dancing 5Rhythm dancing developed by Gabrielle Roth.
Also I like clowns and everything that is related to clowning. I think it is an amazing phenomenon and I like to study and philosophize about the function of clowning. Why for example are some people phobic and why are some of them so crazy and out of control? In my opinion clowns go through a lot of prejudice. That leads me to being interested in performance studies, philosophy, religion and psychology. Everything is so interwoven. Life is simply interesting.

Music, Movies, and Books

Garðar:
Films I like so much I study them. That is what I do at this point, study films academically at a university. I like a wide variety of different films, generas, film makers, waves and periods. To name a few would be Clint Eastwood, Chris Marker, Jim Jarmusch, Milos Forman, Godard, De Antonio, Sergio Leone, Chan Wook Park, Takashi Kitano, Jan Svankmayer, Akiro Kurusawa, Quentin Tarantino, Lindsey Anderson, Howard Hawks Alain Resnais, Agnes Varda, Werner Herzog, John Ford. These are the one at the top of my mind but the list could go on and on.

I read a lot – mostly novels but also philosophy. My favorite book which I encourage everyone to read is The Master and Margarita by Mikahel Bulgakov.
My favorite books about traveling would be Huckleberry Finn and On The Road :)

I am always and constantly listening to music. My favorite type is hardcore punk and has been since around 14 but as with films I find every thing interesting. Jazz, blues, variety of metal and indie, electronic music of different kinds, hip hop, post rock and folk music are all on my listening list and naming artist or albums that I like would be a to big of a project for this venue.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Life is amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share

Andrea: Now my favorite phrase is "There´s a little bit of you in each of me" -Martin Buber. Another favorite phrase is "The world around you is a reflection of your reaction to the world around you" -Dalai Lama
I think it is very important to be willing and wanting to gain wisdom as long as you live through both studying and teaching. Therefor I like being a Yogi and walk the path of wisdom, love and happiness:)
