我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

There is a very special reason I'm on Couchsurfing—to fulfill my childhood dream.

That is to say, I am "walking the earth,” on a solo backpacker mission to ask local people across the globe, "what is your most transformative life experience?" and record a collection of true stories from cultures around the world.

The journey across Southeast Asia exceeded my wildest expectations!

And ~ I have just begun to travel again ✨🖌️ ✨👣✨

On January 25 of this year, I walked across the border into Mexico—on a route down the West Coast of Latin and South America into Chile.

And ~ Although I have not been on CS as much as I would have liked to, (with the ever-divergent nature of journalism, I often didn't have the luxury of advance planning much of my travels) in the wake of the Covid-19 lockdown, I turned my home into an Airbnb Yoga Shala retreat & healing center—as a charity fundraiser.

Philosophically, it was in the spirit of CS, except I taught yoga and mediation to my guests, charged for their stay, then donated the money to the only NGO to be formally lauded by the United Nations for both effective use of funding and innovation in women’s empowerment initiatives in the developing world.

Being in nature, low-slope hikes. Being in cities, clean streets and sky scrapers. Being asleep, lucid dreaming. Being at work, Wu-wei days. When hours pass fast and then years pass faster. Work out partners, yoga partners, painting, unexpected live music, things that grow, enlightened people, funny metas including but not limited to curiosity (listed as an interest…) and also genuinely, I am interested in curiosity as an existential phenomenon.
