ABOUT ME

I love to travel & i want to go...everywhere!

I graduated from UCLA in '07 with a BA in Latin American Studies with an emphasis on Ecology & the Environment. NASM personal training cert and soon my 200YTT ... never stop learning :)

I've started my own surf business giving lessons & leading surf tours, but there's so much more I want to add to that :) I believe everything is connected and I want my business to reflect that healthy lifestyle - food, fitness, environmental awareness and proactive-ness, self-conscientiousness & the desire to always keep learning and making oneself as well as the world a better place.

Been hosting on and off for a few years ~ it's been great! love having people over and making new friends. I've even had someone return to stay with me after 3 years :)

Music, Movies, and Books

all kinds of movies. I'm a Johnny Depp & Jim Carey fan. Funny movies are usually what I go for, like Super Troopers is ridiculously funny, but I also enjoy foreign films. One of my faves of all time is Cidade de Deus (City of God) ~ if you haven't seen it, do. It's a beautiful film! Quentin Terantino films... Jackie Brown is badass!!
Music - everything minus the hardcore rap and ex-nay on the country music! (sorry), I like old-school R&B, hip-hop, blues, jazz, some pop, some grass-roots + Latin American rythms and electronic.
Books - anything and everything it really depends on what kind of mood i'm in. I usually balance a fun read and a serious read at the same time to keep it lively.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

ONE amazing thing? I lived/studied abroad in Brasil for a year ~ definitely an experience of a lifetime!

Teach, Learn, Share

if you have the chance to travel in school, do it! It is definitely worth the experience to live in a foreign country and be outside your comfort zone. Hopefully you will learn a lot, not just about another country and its citizens, but also about yourself and what you're capable of accomplishing.
Don't be scared to try something new ~ you don't want to give up a chance at something and later regret not doing it!
