About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Becoming an adventurer and pilot.

ABOUT ME

Well, what to tell about me. I was born in Frankfurt, grew up in Hessen and Nordrhein-Westfalen and finished my school in Nordwalde. I was always crazy about aviation.
Since I did not have the money to become a professional pilot right away, I decided to study aerospace engineering in Bremen, where I fell in love with the northern german culture. Due to many many travels and exciting adventures, I finally finished my studies 7 years later successfully.
After having worked for two years at RECARO Aircraft Seating and another half year at a glider manufacturer in Zweibruecken, I switched my job to the automotive industry and was responsible for the failure mode and effects alaysis (this is basically a risk management methode) for the turbocharger section of Continental Automotive GmbH. Later I was working for a industrial company in Angola and then in the Westerwald, building honeycomb structures for a VIP B787 and a A320. I had a very interesting job as Head of Sales for aviation avionics for about 4 years, where I was able to live in the US for one year, using an old Do27 aircraft to travel around.
Today I am working as a Sales Director and Business Development for an aircraft engine manufacturer in the Eifel.
In my spare time, I spend my freetime with my friends and with my passion of flying planes and of course travel around to explore other countries and cultures.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't dream your life, live your dream!

Gobosh - Go big or stay home.

Life is too short to stay at home.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I always had an open appartment for interesting people and travellers. Some of them picked up on the road, some of them met by chance. Now, couch-surfing is a more professional way to offer my sleeping and meeting possibilities and also to participate in using other couches as well, meeting people from all over the world.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed 3 weeks (!!!) in Stuttgart at a wonderful student community house with 4 other students. These experiences were great, as it was enriching my sometimes grey daily life. We had a lot of fun and were able to share our opinions and give an insight view of the others life.

Interests

I love motorcycling and flying, but also play beach volleyball or go kayaking and scuba-diving, if I have the chance.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I flew half around the world in a tiny little Cessna aircraft in 2007, from Hannover/Germany to Sydney/Australia, meeting the most interesting people on my way.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach how to repair a wooden or glassfibre-plane, teach how to drive motorcycles, especially with sidecars. I want to learn how to play saxophone and piano. I can share my travel experiences and also my flying adventures.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Due to having a house in the meanwhile I can offer a way larger couch or even a guestroom with an own bathroom.
