About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm living every week like it's U2 Week. They don't have a U2 Week? They should.

PHILOSOPHY

I like the Buddhist saying that defines existence: "It's not that I am, it's that I want to be." Basically, I think life's not so much about attaining something, but desiring that state. It's this innate restlessness that drives us to do something other than sit around. If every need we had was met, there'd be no reason for us to do anything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I recently attended a graduate student conference in Florida and didn't have to stay in a hotel because a graduate student put myself and three other students up in their house for the weekend. I saved money, made some friends, and had a lot more fun in that environment. I figured I could offer the same kind of service to other travellers with my house.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While not CouchSurfing per se, I have stayed in hostels in England and the aforementioned graduate student's house.

Interests

I'm interested in literature, music, art, politics, recording, cinema, and chocolate chip cookies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most amazing things I've ever seen was the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. The actors during the Wall Scene had to stand motionless for about 15 minutes waiting for the audience to quit laughing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach someone how to use loop samples in a computer program to build beats and songs.

I can introduce them to some amazing comic book series or "graphic novels" if you want to use that euphemism.

I'm also pretty good at revising poetry and fiction-writing so if any traveller has some creative writing with them they'd want to share, I'd love to discuss their work with them.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
