About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make things happen.

ABOUT ME

I really like fresh fruit. And well-designed everyday objects.

PHILOSOPHY

A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and gets to bed at night, and in between he does what he wants. - Bob Dylan

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had a few almost-surfs, but never quite worked out (mostly due to crazy snowstorms in Europe a few years ago). I've hosted a few times in Austin and am excited to meet new people and show them all the amazing things this city has to offer – and to have the favor returned when I get the chance to travel again!

Interests

Good food, good wine, typographic geekery, finding new music (preferably live!), exploring local farmers markets and parks. Picnicking, kite flying, road-tripping, trying new coffee shops, and meeting/collaborating with passionate people are also high on the list.

Music, Movies, and Books

Current music: Blitzen Trapper, Bob Schneider, Decemberists, The Eels, Her Space Holiday, Hold Steady, Magnetic Fields, The National, Old 97s, Reckless Kelly, Sarah Jaffe, Tilly and the Wall, Townes Van Zandt, Voxtrot, and the occasional ACDC/Poison kitchen rockout.

Currently reading: The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm trying to teach myself how to cook more (and more exotic) tasty things, and how to sustain an urban garden. I'm a beast when it comes to Adobe products and pretty techy for a designer - always up for talking shop or learning quirky new things that I can potentially turn into interesting infographics.
