About Me

Hey, I’m Stacey 🌸
Cape Town local, solo traveller, mom, former academic turned slow-life entrepreneur.

I’ve travelled to 37 countries – lived in Hungary while completing my Master’s, taught English in China for two years, and backpacked through Asia, Europe and Southern Africa. My love for travel actually started in Thailand on my first independent trip — and it’s shaped how I see the world ever since.

I’ve hosted Couchsurfers both in Cape Town and while living abroad, so I really value this community — the openness, the generosity, the curiosity. I’ve had some of my most meaningful conversations on couches, kitchen floors, buses and long walks with strangers who became friends.

I’m soft-hearted, thoughtful, curious, and I love connecting with women who are finding their way in the world, especially those travelling solo. I understand what it feels like to arrive somewhere new and want to feel safe, welcomed, and understood.

I recently started HerRide — a female-owned transfer and travel support service for women visiting Cape Town.
It’s not a business pitch — just something that came from lived experience. I know how much it matters to arrive somewhere and immediately feel safe and grounded.

If you ever need a friendly local face, a safe ride, a sunset walk buddy, someone to show you where the real Cape Town is — I’m here 🤍
Max 3 passengers, always gentle energy, always respect.

Because every woman deserves to feel safe, seen & supported on her journey.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me, Couchsurfing is a space where women and travellers can show up as themselves — without pretence.
I’m here to meet people who move through the world with openness and curiosity, and to help create a safe, supportive landing space in Cape Town.
