About Me

After many years of being a guest, I am finally able to welcome people as a host in a heart of Brussels.

Once, I just paused complaining and started being grateful and curious, wherever I am and whatever I do. Most importantly, I enjoy challenging my perspective and learning more about the world out there.

There are plenty of other things I like: eating delicious food, watching the sun going down, and discussing the utopia of a post-capitalistic world. Of course, there is also some room for struggling with life and embracing being cringe, but who does not?

I cannot imagine my life without expanding my horizons and knowledge through new experiences, especially those from Couchsurfing. Can you imagine a person miles away from you can have the same music taste and the same ideas to save the world, just like you?

I am currently working on getting my PhD degree 🇧🇪.

I used to think that life was either a great adventure or nothing, but sometimes it's also good to tone our ambitions down and be reasonable ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's my honour to be a part and a contributor to this community since 2015; I think it is a celebration of how we, as humanity, can come together beyond all limits.

What I can add about myself: I am a lifelong learner, eager to seize this fantastic opportunity to shed light on things I didn't know, broaden my horizons and make new friendships. I started as a surfer, and I am finally in a position to give back as a host.

Interests

The future of human-technology interactions and automation, ethics of technology, civil activism, music, travelling, languages, and culture.

I try not to drink too much coffee, but all those cosy hipster coffee shops just make it impossible!

Also, recently, I started learning more about sustainable lifestyles and circular economy, as well as how to live and travel with less CO2. I am just at the beginning and willing to learn more!

Music, Movies, and Books

I like everything that makes me feel something.

My watchlist of movies: way too long.

My top 4 movies: Boyhood, Little Miss Sunshine, Soul and The Breakfast Club.

I try to explore movies beyond languages and genres, recently going through notable Korean, Hong Kong and Japanese movies. I do like A24 movies, of course, but also more niche films interest me.

I enjoy singing and listening to some folk/country/indie, hip-hop, and techno music. Some artists I've been enjoying lately: Noah Kahan, Radiohead, Fred again.., Twenty One Pilots, Zach Bryan, M83, Marcus Mumford, Phoebe Bridgers, MARO, The Perishers, blackwave, Sam Fender

Teach, Learn, Share

I graduated from an international master in public innovation, and I currently work as a researcher in this field, so I'd be happy to hear your opinion on what the government should look like to be serving citizens to the fullest!

And, of course, I can share my tips on vegan/vegetarian food! Lately, I have been mastering some creative pastry recipes, so why not give it a try?

What I Can Share with Hosts

When you stay with me, I will do my best to make you feel at home. My place is surely not a lux hotel but it has everything you need during your trip.

I am also happy to share my stories and tips on:
- How I survived and returned home after having my passport stolen 11k km away;
- How I spent only 10 EUR / week when travelling in Europe;
- How I got PAID for staying with Airbnb;
- How I've learned a new language in a day

and much more! What is your story?
