Overview
About Me
I am a 58 young year person who has raised three beautiful children, has 4 grandchildren, had an amazing professional carreer, currently transitioned into more of a "job" that has allowed me more time for important things to me.
I love experiencing life! Taking the time to get to know the people and surroundings, the history, the goals, what makes them tick. I have traveled quite a bit in my lifetime but last year wanted to learn how to travel differntly.. Not be stuck in a hotel room at night by myself and also cheaper so I have the opportunity to stay longer and be a "part of". Last year I took a trip to Mexico and did my first workaway in LaCruz for a month. It was amazing! I loved participating in the culture, get to know the people and truly felt like I got to experience where I was. I met like minded people and a few of them I still keep in touch with - actually going to visit one of them this summer.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Heading to Iceland on a planned trip with a couple of friends and just found out that when I get back I will be between jobs. With that said, I am going to take the opportunity to travel parts of Europe. Unfortunantely, this is not a trip that I have planned for financially but I am saving every penny now. Heck, I don't know when I'll be across the puddle again - wasn't really ever on my radar. Now I'm so excited because I know I can do this! I am starting to line up interesting workaways with envrionments that I feel I can contribute in, be a part of and in areas that I am excited to explore. I may be traveling solo BUT I love people and getting to know what they are about. So couchsurfing is something that I'm thinking may come in handy when I have a few days in between stays - get to know a few folks, get some insights about the surrounding area and other areas they may know, share a meal for some good conversation and laughs.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love all genres of music with the exception of Polka - sorry! Truly enjoy live music and festivals. I tend to go to smaller local theaters. My very favorite movie is the Man from Snowy River and of course the Kill Bill trilogy.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think my month in Mexcio was amazing - I seriously put myself in an area I have never been, don't speak much of the language, went with pennies in my pockets and trusted the universe. Loved taking the bus, eating with the locals, sharing their festivities. I made there and back and had a wonderful time!
